Non-Profit Roundtable

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Recognizing that non-profits have limited resources, time and staff to devote to social media strategy, this session will focus on working with what you do have and making it work twice as hard for you.  This “brains-on” discussion will cover the essential tips, tricks and pitfalls of social media for NFPs who want to build a community on a (possibly invisible) budget.
Our panelists bring a well-rounded, grassroots approach to social media. Amy Dove from Power To Be brings insight into bridging the gap between your organization’s marketing plan and social media, ensuring messages are consistent and tailored to platform and audience. Marci Zoretich, BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, is a social media “gardener” well-versed in building and maintaining online communities and weaving them into non-profit communication strategy. Panel moderator Carol-Lynne Michaels is a board member for the Victoria Film Professionals Association, MediaNet Society, and the Victoria Multicultural Society.

BYOBrain. You will be encouraged to participate in this dynamic conversation: What do you want your social media to accomplish for your NFP? What do you need to make that happen?

Amy Dove

Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Power To Be
Drawing on experience in journalism and communications, I look for ways to share engaging content, empower people to share their own voices and ensure it all relates back to supporting the mission and purpose of Power To Be. I look forward to sharing ideas on approaching individual stories as part of the bigger picture, tying it into strategies to do more with less and building lasting community connections.

Communications Coordinator, BC Association of Clinical Counsellors
It does not get any better than combining my love for social media with the rewarding world of non-profit work. As the Communications Coordinator for the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, I get to put my passion towards a purpose. I am excited to be a part of Social Media Camp this year and to be part of the conversation on what social media strategy offers for non-profits.
