Paul Holmes is a technology industry veteran, with 28 years experience.

He is probably best known as co-producer of Social Media Camp, the largest annual Social Media event in Canada.

In addition to his role with Social Media Camp, he is also a vCIO with award-winning Victoria technology leader, IT service provider Smart Dolphins.

Outside his professional life, Paul is a tech tinkerer. He is known as a thought leader on current trends in social media, societal impacts of digital disruption, the emergence of alternative social platforms, and the promise of blockchain technology, including digital currencies like Bitcoin.

In March, 2013, Paul and his Social Media Camp co-presenter Chris Burdge were honoured as 10 to Watch winners by Victoria’s top business publication, Douglas Magazine.

Paul was also a WordPress pioneer, organizing 5 successive WordCamp Victoria events, including the two largest events ever held in British Columbia.

From 2000 to 2011, Paul was President of IdeaZone, a recognized local leader in website design and online marketing.
